Priority and patience
One person per wave is the baseline. The surfer closest to the peak has priority. Dropping in, snakeing, or paddling around the shoulder into a set wave is the fastest way to sour a session.

Local respect
Many Indonesian breaks have a strong local crew. Smile, wait your turn, and do not argue in the water. If you are unsure, watch a few sets before paddling out.

Crowded reefs
On famous Bukit days, sit wide or choose a less hyped peak. Sharing the lineup keeps everyone safer on shallow coral.
