What a scooter tells you about a place
Slow travel between breaks on the Bukit, with enough room to notice what sits between them.
The road is part of the destination
On the Bukit, a short ride can take you from a busy car park to a quiet bend above the sea. The road connects more than surf spots: small shops, family compounds, roadside fruit stands, and turns that are easy to miss when the only plan is to arrive before the crowd.
Leave space between sessions
Chasing every tide can turn a coastline into a checklist. A slower route makes room for the break that was too small in the morning, the beach that feels better after lunch, or the conversation that changes tomorrow's plan. Surf travel is often better when it is not optimised to the minute.
Travel lightly, move carefully
A scooter is useful, but it is not an invitation to hurry. Carry what you need, follow local road habits, and remember that boards, weather, and unfamiliar traffic all add complexity. The goal is not to cover the most ground; it is to stay open to the coast while moving through it responsibly.
