Dry season (Apr–Oct)
South and southwest groundswell lines up with southeast trade winds. Bukit Peninsula lefts — Uluwatu, Balangan, Bingin — usually see their most consistent faces. Crowds rise with the swell; start earlier and move with the tide.

Wet season (Nov–Mar)
West winds can mess up the Bukit, while the east coast and sheltered pockets open up. Keramas and similar east-facing breaks often become the smarter call when the trades flip.

How to choose a month
Pick May–September for classic dry-season rhythm. April and October are transition months — still workable, with fewer crowds and more variable wind. Always check the local forecast for the break you care about.
